This blog will record my adventures with the many money making web sites that litter the internet. I will show you which of them have made me money, and which have lost. One of my overriding goals with this is not to spend a penny that I have not first earned online. This means if you wish to follow in my footsteps (skipping the dog muck and landmines) you can do so without risking anything.

Cool

I posted a review of my Netbook on Ciao, Dooyoo and epinions.

On Dooyoo I made £0.50 for the review, £0.80 in rates and £1.50 as it was awarded a Crown. On Ciao I made £3 in rates, plus £2 from the Premium Fund.   On epinions I make $0.10 and received a rating of "helpful".

£7.80 for one review. I am rather impressed with it.

Quicky...

I've been playing with the Amazon Mechanical Turk today. I'd rate it better than PTCs for sure.

Different

I have come across two rather interesting new sites just recently, SliceThePie and CoProducer.org. Not your normal make money slow sites, but instead almost a invest (time) in talent type things. Slice The Pie have a direct way of making money - reviewing unsigned bands, but on top of that you can invest into bands to help them on there way to stardom. It looks quite cool. We shall see how it goes. CoProducer instead lets anyone interested in film work towards the film, reviewing scripts, voting on actors and generally shape the film. Then when released you get a small chunk of 55% of the profit.

Earnings to Date

As I have mostly given up on the PTC world I have stopped updating this blog. But today I was bored and decided to check up on my Google Adsense earnings and was quite suppressed to find I'm getting about one cent a day. Not bad at all given the tiny amount of work I've put in. So I'm going to try harder with blogs, and have created a new one called i haz teh codez on Java programming (what I do in The Real World). I think if I put some effort into it the two blogs together might be able to turn a little profit and unlike PTCs I can expect to actually see this profit.

While PTCs have yet to pay up, the survey sites (Tech Say and YouGov) are still going strong. I've not had the time to write any reviews, so alas my earning on both Ciao and Dooyoo has not moved. Dooyoo have paid up and this bought me one very good book from Amazon. Every now and again I go on an hour spree on MyLot and make a nice little five cent per spree.

You will notice I have dropped all the PTCs now. They take up so much time and never pay out. Bux.to (the only one I still monitor) has now taken over 6 months to not pay up.

My goals for the next few months are to keep up with my new blog, to write a review on the book I bought with my first £10 from Dooyoo and write some more reviews for this site. The review for TechSay brings in more hits than any other page!
